Parma girl gets room makeover thanks to local non-profit and Ursuline College (Sun Press, February 1, 2013)
Jaida Shantery of Parma can’t run around like other 4-year-old girls. She can’t even lift her legs or step onto a curb.
That’s because Jaida has spina bifida, a birth defect of the spine. She can walk only with help from leg braces and a walker.
But Jaida can scoot if she wants to get somewhere quickly. She also has a sharp mind and smiling personality.
“She is funny and sweet,” said Kassondra Shantery, Jaida’s mom. “She’s actually above average with her counting and numbers and sorting and colors.” For the full story on Jaida's room (Click Here)
